RELEARN MOVEMENT
Stimulate multiple muscle groups
The STIWELL med4 is a Multi-channel functional electro stimulator used for rehabilitation following stroke and other Neurological conditions.
The device enables relearning of movements and practice of everyday activities.
It can be used to produce contractions in weak or paralysed muscles via electrodes located on the skin and compliment conventional physiotherapy.
With its ability to stimulate multiple muscle groups complex movement sequences can be practiced, such as gripping an object, lifting it to the mouth and then releasing it, similar complex movement patterns can be sequenced for the leg.
With correctly timed stimulation sequences functional movements can be practiced and repeated.
With its additional features of biofeedback and EMG channels stimulation can be set to trigger at various sensitivities allowing active patient involvement rather than a passive contraction.
The device supports:
- Muscle strengthening in cases of nerve damage
- Muscle relaxation in cases of increased muscle tone (spasticity)
