AID WALKING
Enhances flexibility and leg movement
Chiltern Neuro physiotherapy uses the stimulator PACE XL with LINQ system.
The PACE XL is small device about the size of a pack of cards, attached either to the waistband, placed in a pocket or with a special cuff worn on the leg.
Wires from the device attach to adhesive pads which are placed on the leg just below the knee.
The stimulator sends signals to the pads which causes the muscles in your leg to contract and moves your foot.
A small pressure pad placed in the shoe detects changes in the foot pressure during walking and so times the stimulation from the PACE XL to your walking.

Used in conjunction with the LINQ system a wireless link can be set up between the footswitch and Pace XL stimulator.
This removes the need for a footswitch wire running down the leg allowing more discreet stimulation and enhances flexibility by allowing users to easily transfer the system from shoe to shoe.
The stimulator can also be used to exercise and stimulate other muscles in the leg to aid walking. It is very versatile in choice of areas to stimulate and therefore can assist with more complex walking problems.
It can also be set up to stimulate and re-educate movement in the arm.
