IMPROVED ABILITY
Calibrated and personalised to each user’s ability
The GripAble is a small handheld device which connects to an app on a tablet and tracks key movements – hand grip and release, wrist movement up and down, side to side and forearm rotation.
The sensor-based device is suitable for individuals with very weak control of their fingers. The device is extremely portable and can be used at clinic and home environments. After initial set up, the device can be used either independently or with care support to increase the use of the hand to maximise potential recovery.
GripAble can be calibrated and personalised to each user’s ability, with real-time feedback to help build motivation and engagement
The GripAble uses accurate and sensitive force sensors to detect a person’s efforts to squeeze/release the device during hand and arm movement and processes this information to enable interaction with a number of games.
Repetitive performance of the tasks and progression of the difficulty lead to improved ability.
It is especially useful for individuals with sensory impairment muscle weakness or neglect of the hand.
