Below are some of our frequently asked questions. Please telephone 07786 055 647 or contact us if you are unable to find an answer to your question.
How much does treatment cost?
The price of treatment depends on a number of factors such as the length of the session and whether there are two therapists involved. For details please contact us to discuss your needs.
How long is the session?
Usually sessions are one hour.
How many treatment sessions will I need?
This is very individual dependent on your condition and how long you have had difficulties. Some patients need more regular therapy to maintain their level of activity while others may have short intensive bursts, interspersed with long periods where they no longer require therapy input.
Potential for recovery will of course also influence the length of a course of therapy. Your therapist will discuss with you what your goals are and how they may be achieved and you will come to an agreement as to the number of sessions you opt to take.
Do I need a referral from my GP or consultant?
You do not need a referral but it is advisable to let your doctor know you are attending so he//she may be happy to send details of your condition to us. We will send a report to your doctor after assessment and treatment if you are happy for us to do so.
Do I need to bring any papers with me?
It may be useful to jot down any information we may require such as a brief history of your condition and details of any medication you are taking. Private medical details may also be useful.
Can my family stay in the session?
Your family are always very welcome and many of our patients have their family present at each session and others, once they have met their therapist, attend as and when they wish or it is requested.
What type of equipment do you have?
We have a wide range of walking equipment; splints and stimulators can be loaned to trial. There is a variety of balance aids and gymball together with hand and upper limb rehabilitation equipment. Saebo splints and functional electrical stimulators can be demonstrated and we can arrange for some aids of daily living to be trialled all in your own home.
